MACY

Hi folks, my name is Macy. I am a cute, black female, age 4. I'm spayed, up to date on my shots, housebroken, crate trained, and I weigh 77lbs. I was a give up to the local shelter, so I am happy as a clam to be with LRR.

Hank

hank-sm.jpg Hank came to LRR several years ago as half of a two year old black lab brother duo who was given up by folks who had moved to the DC area from Georgia and found they could not afford the boys with the higher cost of living. Jake, his smaller brother, was adopted first, leaving Hank to go it alone in his foster home. It was tough on him without Jake, but soon he had fun with the other dogs, and it was not long before his new home came along. LRR took Hank with several other labbies to a Pet Information Day, where the goal is to familiarize people with the breed, rescue dogs, and LRR. A fellow had come to look at cats and confused us briefly with another rescue. While visiting us, he interacted with Hank. Throughout the day, he would return to look at Hank, and it began to appear that he might want a dog instead of a cat! Soon, we received an application from him, and once approved, he was happy to find that Hank was still in the system. He came to visit Hank again at his foster home, and it was clear that fate had stepped in to bring these two together. And thanks to Hank and his Dad, several more folks from his complex adopted LRR labbies, and they have their own daily reunions. (And, yes, a cat was finally added to the family!) Recently, we heard from Hank and his Dad:

Hey guys, Just wanted to say that I think you are doing a great job! I love your home page - though it can be a little depressing to think of all the poor dogs needing loving homes - it's great to know that there are folks out there willing to take the time and energy to make a difference. It's been over four years since I adopted "Hank" from the LRR - he's the BEST part of my life - and I truly feel that I got the pick of the litter! Hank's friends include Nick, Cee Cee, and Gator. I'm always looking for new play mates for Hank - and you seem to be the best source! If you ever need a foster home in the Alexandria area - Hank always enjoys sleep overs and does not mind sharing his food and water. Attached is a recent photo of Hank - as you can see he is doing great! Thank you again for your efforts and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
