Web Site Tour
Below is a summary of some of the features of our web site, as well as some technical information that may help you improve your web surfing experience.
New navigation menu

Our new main navigation menu is much shorter, making it easier and faster to find the option you're looking for. These links take you to main areas of the web site that contain related pages. For example, the new "Our Dogs" section of the web site contains our pages on adoptable playmates, alumni, LOL, and Happy Tails, all in one place!
Quick links
![]()
At the bottom of every page is an organized list of quick links that take you directly to our most popular pages.
Site search

Various pages on the web site have been moved or changed in order to provide a better overall organization to the site. If you can't find what you're looking for, or are looking for a particular topic such as crate training or lyme disease, our Google-powered site search now integrates your search results right into the LRR web site, making it even easier to find information.
Reading Room
Our Reading Room has continued to grow with great articles and information. In order to keep this information easy to find, it has been reorganized into several new topics such as "Dog Health" and "Dog Ownership". Be sure to check it out!
Adoptable Playmates
Did you know you can go directly to our adoptable dogs page from anywhere on the web site just by clicking on the random playmate image on the left side of the page?

Browser compatibility
We strive to make the LRR web site compatible with as many computers and web browsers as possible. As web standards evolve, we may use new features which do not work in very old web browsers. The web site has been tested to work with Internet Explorer (MSIE) 6 or 7, Firefox 2, Safari 2, and Opera 9. These browsers account for approximately 99% of our hits. You appear to be using:
CCBot/1.0 (+http://www.commoncrawl.org/bot.html)
Windows XP Font Smoothing
On Windows XP, the Cleartype feature delivers greatly improved display of fonts on-screen. Unfortunately, Cleartype is turned OFF by default on most systems. Below is an example of how the LRR web site looks with Cleartype OFF (left) and ON (right). You'll probably agree that the right-hand image looks much better.

If you would like to turn Cleartype ON for your system, or check your settings, follow these steps:
- Right-click on the desktop background and select Properties
- Click the Appearance tab at the top of the Properties window
- Click on the Effects button at the bottom right of the window
- In the new Effects window that opens, check the second box that says Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts and then select ClearType from the drop-down menu
- Click OK on both windows.
